BAM
The BAM (Beaux-Arts Mons) is designed to be a unique experience, a place for discovering artistic creation in all its forms, and also a living space where events take place throughout the year. This resolutely contemporary architectural project combines functionality and museum rigor with aesthetics, as the museum's architecture gives pride of place to luminous, transparent circulation spaces. Major exhibitions Every year, BAM hosts two prestigious exhibitions. Presented over nearly 2,000 m², these exhibitions are an opportunity to discover an artist, an artistic movement or a theme related to our collections. Faithful to its values of openness to all types of public, especially the less privileged, BAM organizes a series of activities to mark the major exhibitions.
Visitors can enjoy concerts in the exhibition halls, dance performances and literary tours, as well as a variety of activities in partner facilities, such as film screenings and theater performances. The collections With over 15,000 works of art, the museum's collection focuses particularly on the twentieth century. All of this heritage is preserved in the Artothèque, the reserve of all the museums of the City of Mons. In addition to international exhibitions, the permanent collections also find their place in this beautiful setting, where you can admire a selection of works illustrating the diversity and quality of the museum's collections, which are highly representative of Belgian and foreign art from the second half of the 20th century.
